What we believe

Living Spirit of God Ministries is a charismatic, Pentecostal, Word-centered ministry, headquartered in Pearland, Texas, with a mission center in Kumba, Cameroon and a Zoom congregation reaching Kenya, India, Pakistan and beyond.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.Luke 4:18 · NKJV
Part one

Vision and mission

Our vision

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, Living Spirit of God Ministries is dedicated to proclaiming the Good News to the poor, healing the brokenhearted, offering freedom to those in bondage, restoring sight to the blind, and liberating the oppressed. We strive to embody the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and to be His hands and feet in the world, as proclaimed in Luke 4:18 and Isaiah 61. We are committed to bringing hope to the poor, healing to the wounded, freedom to the enslaved, and light to those in darkness.

Our mission

Our mission is to announce the year of the Lord's favor, ushering in a season of restoration and joy for all who are broken and lost.

Our goal

Our goal is to faithfully fulfill the Great Commission by preaching the Good News with love and joy, offering comfort to those who mourn, and proclaiming liberty and healing to the captives and the oppressed. We aim to be a beacon of love, hope, and a living embodiment of God's grace and righteousness, trusting that through His Spirit, ashes are exchanged for beauty, mourning for joy, and despair for praise. Together we endeavor to plant righteousness in the hearts of people and witness God's transformative power in every life we touch, working to see His kingdom established on earth as it is in heaven.

The mandate defined

02

The target

The poor, the brokenhearted, the bound, the blind and the oppressed, reached locally in Pearland and globally through the Zoom congregation.

03

The tool

The preaching of the Word, prophetic declaration, discipleship, and Spirit-empowered ministry through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

04

The time

Now, in the last days: the acceptable year of the Lord, the ultimate season of freedom, restoration and divine favor.

Luke 4:19
The seven pillars

Seven pillars, and the fruit they bear

Our seven pillars come from Isaiah 11:2, the sevenfold Spirit resting on the Messiah. Isaiah 61 and Luke 4:18 show the same Spirit at work, so each pillar bears fruit in one part of our mandate.

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.Isaiah 11:2 · NKJV
  1. 1

    The Spirit of the LORD

Our founding pillar: the anointing itself, the difference between human effort and Spirit-empowered ministry.

Empowered proclamation"...because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor." Luke 4:18
  2. 2

    The Spirit of Wisdom

Applying divine truth rightly to real situations, knowing how to minister comfort, timing, direction and truth to wounded people.

Healed hearts"He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted." Luke 4:18
  3. 3

    The Spirit of Understanding

Seeing past symptoms to the chain that actually holds a person, behind our deliverance ministry.

Lasting freedom"...to proclaim liberty to the captives." Luke 4:18
  4. 4

    The Spirit of Counsel

Direction where there was confusion, for members, leaders and the ministry's own decisions.

Sight restored"...and recovery of sight to the blind." Luke 4:18
  5. 5

    The Spirit of Might

Supernatural power to break yokes that counsel alone cannot lift, through intercession and warfare prayer.

Oppression lifted"...to set at liberty those who are oppressed." Luke 4:18
  6. 6

    The Spirit of Knowledge

Spirit-given insight into what God is doing and when, behind our daily devotionals, Bible study and teaching.

A people who know their season"...to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." Luke 4:19
  7. 7

The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD

Reverent awe that keeps every other gift humble, holy and rightly ordered.

Joy that lasts"...beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness." Isaiah 61:3
Statement of faith

The ten tenets of faith

The doctrine every LSGM congregation, minister and member holds, in person and on Zoom.

Article 1

Faith in the Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal and undivided.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.Matthew 28:19 · NKJV
  • One God, three Persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
  • Co-equal, eternal, undivided.
Article 2

The Authority of Scripture

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for our faith and practice.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.2 Timothy 3:16-17 · NKJV
  • The Bible is God-breathed and fully authoritative.
  • It governs doctrine, correction, and righteous living.
Article 3

The Centrality of Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and His life, death, and resurrection provide the only path to salvation. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."John 14:6 · NKJV
  • Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ.
  • His death and resurrection are the foundation of our gospel.
Article 4

The Work of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live godly lives and to continue Christ's work on earth. Believers receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.Acts 1:8 · NKJV
  • The Holy Spirit empowers godly living and ministry.
  • He continues Christ's work through the Church.
Article 5

Salvation Through Grace

Salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and not by works.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.Ephesians 2:8-9 · NKJV
  • Salvation is a gift, not earned.
  • Received by grace through faith alone.
Article 6

The Call to Discipleship

Believers are called to follow Christ, becoming His disciples, and to make disciples of others, teaching them to observe all He commanded.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.Matthew 28:19-20 · NKJV
  • Every believer is called to follow and to disciple others.
  • Discipleship is not optional: it is the Great Commission.
Article 7

Community of Believers

We are a community bound by love and committed to serving God and one another, continuing steadfastly in teaching, fellowship, communion, and prayer.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.Acts 2:42 · NKJV
  • The Church is a covenant community, not a crowd.
  • Fellowship, communion, and prayer hold it together.
Article 8

Compassion and Service

Following Christ's example, we are called to serve others and to show His love through tangible action toward the hungry, the thirsty, and the needy.

For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.Matthew 25:35-36 · NKJV
  • Faith is expressed through compassionate action.
  • Service to the needy is service to Christ Himself.
Article 9

The Hope of Eternal Life

We look forward to the return of Christ and the hope of eternal life with Him, when every tear is wiped away.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.Revelation 21:4 · NKJV
  • Believers live in hope of Christ's return.
  • Eternal life is the believer's certain inheritance.
Article 10

Missionary Outreach

Our mission extends beyond ourselves, reaching those who have not yet heard the Gospel, locally in Pearland and globally through the Zoom congregation and local churches.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.Matthew 28:19 · NKJV
  • The mission does not end at the local congregation.
  • Global outreach is built into our calling.
Worship

Baptism and communion

Water baptism

Baptism by immersion is a direct commandment of the Lord for believers, identifying us with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It does not save us; it is a public testimony of the new birth.

Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4

When: Saturdays, at a time set by each local church. Prayer, a short teaching, then the baptism.

Baptism in the Holy Ghost

The immersion of the believer in the Person and power of the Holy Spirit, distinct from and subsequent to salvation and water baptism, with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The promise is for every believer.

Acts 1:5; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:39

When: As the Spirit moves: at the altar, in prayer meetings, or on request, with the laying on of hands.

Holy Communion

The Lord's Supper, instituted by Jesus on the night He was betrayed, is a remembrance of His broken body and shed blood. It renews our covenant, calls us to self-examination, and proclaims the Lord's death until He comes.

Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

When: The first Sunday of every month, in person and on Zoom, consecrating the start of each month to the Lord.

Christian living

Our faith in practice

Prayer and fasting

Fasting with focused prayer humbles the soul, breaks yokes and sharpens our hearing of God. We begin every year with a 21-day corporate fast, and fast together on the last weekend of every month, from Friday until after Sunday service.

Matthew 6:16-18; Isaiah 58:6; Daniel 10:2-3

Prophetic ministry and declarations

Prophecy builds up, exhorts and comforts. Declarations are spoken in faith over individuals and the congregation, always anchored in Scripture and under pastoral covering.

1 Corinthians 14:3; Job 22:28; Isaiah 55:11

Healing and deliverance

Healing and deliverance are covenant provisions purchased at the cross. We minister them at the altar through the laying on of hands, anointing with oil and the prayer of faith, with discernment and care.

Isaiah 53:4-5; Luke 4:18; James 5:14-15

Holiness and marriage

Sanctification is a definite yet progressive work of grace. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy belongs within it.

Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 19:4-6; Hebrews 13:4

Stewardship and giving

Tithes and offerings are free-will worship, led by the Spirit and never compelled. Every believer has at least one spiritual gift, entrusted to serve the whole body.

2 Corinthians 9:7; Malachi 3:10; 1 Peter 4:10

Every member an evangelist

Every member is encouraged to share the gospel with at least one person as a regular spiritual discipline, like Andrew who first found his own brother and brought him to Jesus.

Mark 16:15; John 1:41-42
